What Causes Persistent Fever Along With Chills, Sweating And Achy Muscles?

Hello. Over the last three nights I ve had moderate fevers hovering around 101.7-101.9. They begin around 10pm, and break around 6am. The fevers also bring chills, sweats, and achy muscles. During the day I ve been having headaches (made worse by bending over or standing up) and a sore throat (unknown if post-nasal drip is involved). Taking ibuprofen seems to temporarily lower the fever and dull the headache enough that I can sleep, but sometimes the medicine doesn t seem to help the headache much. The headache is sometimes focused on the back of my head, the sides, or the top. Should I be concerned about the prolonged fever? Is there a reason it would only come at night? How can I stop this headache? Thank you for your help.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Evening rise fever can be contributed to many of the inflammatory conditions as sarcoidosis, tuberculosis, myositis issues or else.

A thorough clinical examination, detailed medical history and supportive lab evaluations are the best tools to find out the cause and management in accordance with that only.

Best primary relief can be obtained with the prescription of tramadol hydrochloride with your GP and to be consumed after meals only.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
