What Causes Persistent Dry Cough Along With Pain In The Shoulder Blade?
Yes. My friend s had a huge change in her health. She is 52 a smoker but active. For about a month or more she sounds like she has larangytis, almost to the point of not understanding what she is saying it is so raspy. persistent dry cough. no fever. anything from nose is clear. right shoulder blade on back has pain about a 5 when coughing spells begin. no fever no mucus just loss of voice. And she has swollen feet, which could not be related at all. Also she waked up at night coughing. Now, this is what I know. She is temporally living in a camp trailer that is damp and I detect mold. Any advice? It is not going away and I am worried about her. Thank you so much

You should take an appointment with a pulmonologist/physician ASAP. Your friend could be suffering from simple bronchitis or one of the many complications of smoking.
Considering her age she has likely to have developed changes consistent with COPD.(chronic obstructive pulmonary disease).
The swelling of feet may be related as respiratory failure leads to failure of the heart of which a symptom is swollen feet. The first and foremost step is to lick the butt.
P.S: I am an ex-smoker and if it helps, the habit isn't worth it.
