What Causes Persistent Dizzy Spells Throughout The Day?

Hi, I am 44 yr old Female. For the last week I have been having dizzy spells. It started one morning as I was getting out of bed. It happens throughout the day. If I look above my head like in the shower I feel like I am going to fall. I always maintained a good healthy life except for smoking and I am 26 days smoke free. Could this have something to do with it. I take regular vitamins as prescribed by my Nurse Practitioner. Thanks for any info you can help with.

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

If the dizziness occurs with certain head positions then it may be related to BPPV (benign paroxsymal positional vertigo).

This causes short episodes of dizziness/vertigo worse with certain positions.

It can be confirmed by a visit to your doctor. He or she would perform certain maneuvers to diagnose it.
If confirmed it would be treated with a maneuver called the epley maneuver.

It may not be linked to your smoking cessation.

I hope this helps
