What Causes Persistent Cough, weakness In Arms And Legs And Voice Hoarseness?

hi I just took my husband to the doctors office today. for the past few months he has been coughing, wheezing, having pain all over his mid section, fever , chills, pain and weakness in his right arm and leg, and has also almost lost his voice , due to hoarseness. the doctor he saw put him on an antibiotic treatment to see if it helps, which he sais he hopes and prays that it will. I have to take my husband back next week to see if there is improvement. My husband has smoked for over 30 yrs and the doc is suspicious its not being caused by a flu....etc..................He also asked my husband if cancer runs in his family, which it does.....................I hope I am wrong , but I think that the doctor suspects Cancer.

HI
Well come to HCM
I really appreciate your concern, such chronic symptoms of fever, cough, and other breathing related manifestation need to be brought to investigation least concern what the doctor suspecting and what the history says because these are not the criteria but such illness need to be completely investigated for all the likely etiologies, hope this information helps, take care.
