What Causes Persistent Cough?

I have had a persistent cough for the last few days. I usually get bronchitis once a year; maybe twice. It started with a runny nose & chest congestion. I have been given Tussionex and Hycodan; however the Tussionex works better & I only had to use a small amount which lasted for hours. I ve only gotten about 5 hours of sleep in the last two nights due to the cough. Which medicine given my condition would you recommend?

Bronchitis is responsible for your chronic cough. Tussionex is a good drug. Continue this medicine. I advise you to take theophylline tablet once daily, if you have no side effects of this drug.
