Don't think directly about
lung cancer.
Persistent cough, breathlessness and upper chest pain are commonly seen with bronchitis.
Lung cancer can also show similar symptoms.
But better to
consult pulmonologist and get done clinical examination of respiratory system, chest x ray and PFT (Pulmonary Function Test).
Chest x ray is needed to rule out lung cancer. If chest x ray is normal then no need to worry for lung cancer.
PFT is must for the diagnosis of bronchitis.
You may need inhaled bronchodilators (formoterol or
salmeterol) and inhaled corticosteroid (ICS) (
budesonide or
fluticasone).
Don't worry, you will be alright with appropriate treatment.
First diagnose and then start treatment.
