What Causes Persistent Bleeding Post Periods With Uterine Cramps?

I ve been bleeding for over 7 weeks straight.. I thought back on October 4th I had started my period, however I have not stopped bleeding since. it started out as a light normal period then it progressively got wors and worse. I ve started having cramps in my upper uterus but I m not sure if that s normal or if it s even my period, I almost feel like the blood is so bad, it s like big clots. and it doesn t stop. I ve been throwing up almost everyday since as well. what should I do?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

It would be best for you to see your doctor for an assessment. There are different possible causes such as : (1) fibroids
(2)endometriosis
(3)abnormal levels of hormones
(4)infection
(5)polyps (non cancerous growth of the uterus and cervix)
(6)bleeding disorder

Your doctor would likely examine your abdomen and pelvis and would likely suggest investigations which would a complete blood count and hormone levels.
Imaging such as ultrasound would be needed as well.

I hope this helps
