What Causes Persistent Abdominal Cramps And Vaginal Bleeding While On Oral Contraceptives?

I ve been bleeding and cramping for a few days now. I m only on the second week of my pill pack, and i ve been on birth control for about 4-5 months now. I haven t bled irregularly the entire time i ve been on it. I m not sure if it s something to brush off or if i should look into it more.

Hi, I think it can be a side effect of the pill. But it can be due to some vaginal infection also. So, better to get yourself evaluated by a gynecologist. If it persist for more than a week. You can take some medicines like tranexamic acid to stop the bleeding. Get a pelvic examination done. You may need some antibiotic and antifungal drugs orally as well as vaginal if infection is there. Otherwise it will resolve on its own. Hope it helps.
