What Causes Pelvic Pain And Burning Sensation After Trans-vaginal Ultrasound?

Hello, I m 28 weeks pregnant and a few days ago I had a transvaginal ultrasound for cervix length, however the ultrasound was a bit painful and I experienced a lot of burning as well during and after the procedure. They use latex free cover for the probe but it still burned. And I ve been experiencing burning and itching since. They ran a urine test for any infections but the results came back that I was dehydrated. I have been drinking water but the burning is still there. Can it be something else?

Hello and welcome to HCM,
Burning sensation in the vaginal tract is most commonly due to infection.
Is there any vaginal discharge accompanied by burning sensation?
If yes then the discharge needs to be examined to look for any evidence of infection.
Allergy to the material of the probe could be one possibility, however, the exposure is over and such sensation should disappear.
You may get a high vaginal swab to rule out any evidence of infection.
In case there is any evidence of infection, appropriate antibiotic ointment safe during pregnancy can be used.
