What Causes Palpitations With Cold Hand And Feet?

I have a 11 year old son stocky build is complaining of cold feet and hands, muscle fatigue, says he feels nervous and his heart is racing a bit. He is also thirsty and he thinks there is some inate feeling that something is wrong perhaps a disease or a warning of a some pending physical ailment. Are there occurances of heart attacks or something serious or is this a boy who needs a good nights sleep. He woke up after 5 hours of sleep feeling stressed. He is on summer vacation and no school pressure has an impact. He is acting a bit odd. Any advise ER or sleep on it? Casey In Wisconsin

Nothing can be said before proper checkup. It appears that blood supply to the extremities is decreased causing cold extremity because of that there is increased cardiac work load leading to palpitation. It could be peripheral vascular disease. There may be some other causes for cold extremities like hypothyroidism etc. It is possible that symptoms are merely due to sleep deprivation. Odd behaviour of your son could be because of the stress and sleep deprivation. Your son need good and sound sleep although, but you should go for proper checkup of your son especially by cardio vascular expert.
