What Causes Pale Yellow Discharge After Using Monistat For Yeast Infection?

I am pretty sure I had a Yeast Infection so I used Monistat 1 this morning (which resulted in some rather unexpected burning for about 30 min. to an hour). I had the regular white discharge from the medicine but just recently the discharge was pale yellow. I have no more pain or burning, and everything seems fine. Is this normal?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Presence of yellow discharge is concerning for vaginal bacterial infection. However, if you do notice any pain, irritation or further discharge, then infection is not a concern.
But if these symptoms persist and recur, then vaginal swab and microscopy are required to rue out infection.

Hope this answers your question
