What Causes Pale And Smelly Stool After A Stomach Flu?

My 1 year old had the stomach flu a week ago. She started getting better after three days but her stools changed to a very pale peach color which was attributed to low bile salts from the illness. Now her stool is still pale and started smelling very strongly of ammonia. Should I take her back into her physician or is this her body simply readjusting?

Hi... It could just be a fleeting viral diarrhea from which your kid is already recovering. But pale stools should be given importance only if there's loss of appetite/ yellowish discoloration of eyes/ highly yellow colored urine. If these things occur....kindly see your pediatrician... It could be an evolving viral hepatitis. Happy to help anytime. If you are happy with my reply, kindly rate it.
