Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have very painful wrists, fingers and ankles. My fingers become very swollen. I am getting very little sleep and this is making it worse. I also get sore shoulders especially my right and my hips hurt sometimes. I also have experienced dizzy spells. My baby is 17 months old and my hair is still falling out. I had bloods taken they all came back fine, however it did show positive for rheumatoid arthritis. My hemo cells are also up. My doctor is referring me to a rhuematogilist and a hemotologist. Do you have any idea what could be wrong with me?

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement, Dr. Saurabh Gupta's Response
Hello, Thanks for your query.
Repeated joint pains can be due to multiple causes at this age the commonest being poly arthralgia. Other causes can be rheumatoid arthritis, gout, inflammatory diseases like SLE, bursitis, fibromyalgia, etc. For proper diagnosis, some of the blood tests are advisable like- 1. Serum calcium levels. 2. Serum Uric acid levels. 3. RA factor 4. ESR and CRP 5. Serum Creatinine 6. X-ray of affected joints. You need a thorough clinical examination followed by investigations under the guidance of an orthopedician. Till then for symptomatic relief, you can take over the counter analgesics, do hot fomentation and apply local analgesic gel on the affected areas.
I do hope that you have found something helpful and I will be glad to answer any further query. Take care
