What Causes Painful White Spot On The Tonsils?
For the past 2-3 days it hurts to swallow on the left side of my throat. On both my tonsils there are white spots on them. In addition on my left tonsil (this is the only side that hurts when I swallow) there is a dark blackish lump and it almost looks like pooled blood underneath the skin on that tonsil. Any ideas on what this is and should I get it checked out?

White spot over the tonsils are nothing but follicles over the tonsils. This suggests chronic infection of the tonsil.
Blackish lump might be a haemorrhagic cyst over the tonsils. This needs clinically evaluation. I would suggest you to consult with the doctor and get evaluated.
