Only a rare complication called lactic acidosis with Metformin can have urinary symptoms but before that a lot of other symptoms like severe lethargy, muscle aches, etc would have occurred and that is least likely in this situation you mentioned. For reassurance renal function tests may be done however still possibility of renal stones is more likely than any other one so ultrasound KUB and Xray KUB may be needed.
