What Causes Painful Urination And Vaginal Dryness During Menopause?
I am post menopauseal...and I am experiencing tremendous pain upon urintion....not during urination, but after the urine travels across the labia. Not a UTI...been tested. I thought it might be vaginal dryness so I used Replens...not much relief. Even used Vaseline. I really try to avoid the bathroom but eventually I must go. I actually scream when the urine hits the labia....like pouring acid or lye on an open wound. What is happening? Any ideas?
Hello dear, After menopause the hormone levels go down, and they are responsible of keeping normal hydration of the vaginal area. The PH of the urine was normal? You can try to use some topical Estrogen gel, it helps in restoring the vaginal hydration. I would recommend you also to be checked by a dermatologist, to see if the labial skin is damaged, and maybe this is the reason. Hope you find my answer helpful.
