What Causes Painful Urination After Medical Abortion?

I had an abortion two weeks ago (tablets) and am still bleeding. I had a pregnancy test which has returned positive, which means the abortion might have been unsuccessful. When I urinate, it is painful (about an 8 on a scale of 1 to 10). I saw my doctor yesterday who took a urine sample, and have an appointment to discuss the results in 4 days time. Should I wait until then, or go to A&E?

Hi, I think you should go for a ultrasound to see if there is any retained products of pregnancy. If there is any product of conception, you may need surgical evacuation. Urine test will come positive till one month after abortion. So, it is of no use. You may be having some urine infection. It will come in the report. Drink around 3 to 4 litres of water per day and take some urine alkaliser like syrup alkasol.
