What Causes Painful Swollen Spider Veins While On Levothyroxine?

Yes! I am 69 yrs old and take only 75mg of levothyroxine in the am due to thyroid issues. No other meds and see doctor annually. I do have spider veins and above my left knee they re bulging more and I have an area that is swollen and feels hot, even to the touch. It gets worse (hurts like a sting) if I stay on my feet or walk a lot. It also feels hard to the touch as compared to the same spot on my other leg. This area I refer to is about the size of a small apple. Any ideas?
