What Causes Painful Swelling In The Navel?

I had a tubal ligation almost six weeks ago and for the last few days my belly button area has hurt quite a bit there is some redness below my belly button amd it is warm to the touch....I feel a small knot above my belly button and have noticed some swelling in my stomach any pressure on that spot is painful. What could this be should I be worried?

Hello

Thank you for writing at HCM.

Tubal ligation is nowadays done with Laparoscope, if by any chance you did an open tubal ligation, your symptoms can possible be due to complications of the surgery or surgical site infection.

You are required to do an USG Abdo-Pelvis along with CBC, CRP to confirm if anything is wrong with surgery or its SSI.

You can take Tab Amzesik MR 1-0-1 x 5 days, Tab Cefovolk 200 1-0-1 x 5 days, Dermo GM o/m 1-1-1-1 x 5 days to correct SSI.

You should consult your gynecologist again and explain him/her about the complications.

Wish you well.
Thanks
