What Causes Painful Sexual Intercourse?

Hi, Over the last few months, my partner has been complaining of a pain immediately after sex. This pain was initially fairly mild, but recently has got worse and worse. The pain can last for up to an hour after intercourse. At first, the pain was irregular, only occurring every now and then. It has now got to a point, however, that there is pain at all times after attempting intercourse, although sometimes with slightly varying severities. When using lube, it can create a stinging sensation that is so severe that any penetration or intercourse at all is not possible. We both have had no previous sexual partners, however no longer use condoms, but just the contraceptive pill. However, the pain is still common when using condoms. I understand that you may not be able to give us a definitive answer as to what it could be, and that we need to seek local medical advice, but any idea s would be much appreciated. Many thanks.
