What Causes Painful Ribs?

Hi I am a 20 year old male college student. Lately I have been experiencing pain on the back side of my ribs..only on the left side This happens only after I wake up from my sleep. The pain goes away once I am out of the bed. I also lift weights as I go to the gym very often. Does it have to do with anything?

Hi
Welcome to healhcaremagic
After going through your query I concluded that you may be suffering from muscular pain probably due to overexertion due to lifting of weight in gym. It's treatment is rest and analgesic such as ibuprofen for pain relief and rest to muscles. You should stop weight lifting for few weeks. You are also advised to do your x ray chest to see any pathology in lung. You can discuss your doctor about it. Hope your query get answered. If you have any clarification then please don't hesitate to write to us. I will be happy to answer your queries. You can also write to me directly on below link:
