What Causes Painful Red Spots On The Scalp?

my 6 year old is complaining of pain from a small red spot on her scalp. It almost looks like a mole. she has not had any injury, and the spot has been painful for a few weeks. it looks to be nearly in the same spot that she had a strawberry hemangioma as a baby. is it possible for that to come back?
