So I just came back from a long day of hiking, and there were a lot of Mosquitos. Anyways I came home and looked in the mirror to see a red circle the size of a quarter on my collar bone all swelled up. At first I thought it was just a mosquito bite, but then I saw a little red on the other side of my collar bone, so I pressed it and it hurt. What I m wondering is are these just some mosquito bites that were a coincidence that hurt quite a lot since its on my collar bone, or is it something else?
Hi. As per your case history you are having mosquito bite rashes. My treatment advice is - 1. Wear full sleeve clothes to avoid further such episodes. 2. Apply a soothing lotion like calamine lotion on affected region twice daily. 3. Take an antihistamine medication like levocetrizine twice daily for 7-10 days. 4. Other treatment options are oral steroid, hydroxyzine taken only after consulting a dermatologist.
Thanks. Dr. Harshit bhachech. MBBS, DDVL.
