What Causes Painful Lumps Below Rib Cage?

I am 45 years old and have developed small lumps on the same spot on both sides of my body. It is a little below my right rib cage and above my hip and the same on the left side. These lumps are felt under the skin and sometimes painful. I am concerned because they were not there before and I have a history of cancer in my family.

Such swelling could be due to lipoma only thing you can do is keep this swelling under observation for any changes if nothing ever happens anything then this is nothing to worry, in my opinion it is advisable to confirm the diagnosis and for this clinical examination is must, hope this information helps, take care and have a nice day.
