What Causes Painful Lump Near Voice Box?

I noticed yesterday that I have a lump near my voice box and when I touch that part of my throat, it hurts. It also hurts to talk, sing or swallow. I am also hurting down into my chest like my whole neck, throat and chest are bruised. I do not have a soar throat like one gets with Strep or a cold. What could this be?

I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern.
You may have some upper respiratory tract infection. You should take a course of antibiotics like azithromycin or amoxyclav.
Drugs like chlorpheneremine malate or cetrizine is helpful to releive symptoms. Warm salina water gargles are also useful.
