What Causes Painful Jaw Followed By Pain In Chest?

After a dentist appt. for a cleaning my jaw started hurting occasionally, then last night my chest started hurting. I have had history of anxiety, so I had some lorazepam and took and very small dose. I m somewhat better, but I m hesitant to go to a doctor. I don t want to be put through a barrage of tests again that were very expensive and concluded I was anxious. my last BP reading was 135/104 and my heart rate was 97. I m not nasueas or feverish. I also had a bad virus last month that hung on, I m still congested from that. I know you can t diagnose with just this but I don t want to go to a doctor office if I don t have to. (doctor visit = 45 minute drive + $100 s)

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Chest pain can be related to any structure in the chest or it may be linked to anxiety.

Heart related chest pain is typically central though it can radiate to the left side of the chest. It is typically tight or heavy feeling associated with shortness of breath, palpitations, excess sweating, nausea.
Some persons may not have all of these symptoms and a slight variation in the pain.

The heart rate is on the higher part of normal and the blood pressure is also increased.

If the pain is worse with particular movements then it is more likely related to the muscles or bones in the chest.
If there is tenderness then it is also not likely heart related.

If there is any burning sensation, it is possibly reflux.

If you are still not sure , then you should be assessed.

I hope this helps
