Just trying to figure out what its said its a bit difficult to read he went with sore itchy red eye which kept tearing and he said it was very painful when looking at phone or sun light
Red eye is the most common symptom encountered by an eye specialist. Sore itchy tearing red eyes points to 1. conjuntivits. pt usually have discharge too. Better to start on a antibiotic i.e moxifloxacin and artificail tears i.e CMC in case of infective. A ropy discharge points to allergic conjunctivitis and can be treated with an antihistaminic like olapatadina and ketorolac with CMC. Steriod drops like lotepred can be added for a week in case of severity. 2. Iritis. pt have predominantly intolerence to light with red eyes. can start a low dose steriod like loteped and cycloplegic like cyclopentolate for comfort from ciliary spasms. 3. There are other causes like scleritis and glaucoma But I feel its an Infective conjunctivitis as it goes more with the history. Hope it helps you STAY FIT
