What Causes Painful Intercourse And Vaginal Bleeding?

My boyfriend and I had sex for the first time about 2 weeks ago. It was insanely painful, not just initially either. After that I bled off and on (which I read is normal). At first it was bright red, and quite a bit. Then it stopped for a couple days, then started up again and was brown in color. I m still currently bleeding. I think this time it could be my period, but I m on birth control so it s hard for me to tell. It stings a little to pee and the area is very tender. I don t know if this is too much information or not. I just wanted to know if I should schedule an appointment with my gynecologist or not.

painful intercourse in first sex could be due to hesitation, or due breakage of a membrane that covers vagina, but after that bleeding should stop if it is due laserations, a tenderness after that could be a sign of pelvic infection, for that you need to consult with gynecologist
