What Causes Painful Dark Red Bump On Ankle?

Hi, my husband has a darkish red bump on his ankle with a center that looks like a large needle prick. I was thinking it may be a bug bite or an allergic reaction to a bug bite, but I want to know at what point it becomes serious. He says it hurts when moving it and it s larger than a regular mosquito or bug bite.

Hello There

After going through your medical query I understand your concern and I would like to tell you that if redness keep on increasing and he starts to have fever then it is serious. You can take tab Allegra for couple of days, if it doesn’t start regressing then consult a physician personally for further treatment.

Hopefully this information will guide you properly.

Kind Regards
Dr Bhanu Partap
