What Causes Painful And Visible Vein In The Wrist After An Injury?

I fell and fractured my wrist at the end of July and wore a cast for six weeks. A removable one fastened with Velcro. I noticed pain in my wrist vein after a short time wearing the cast. The vein is now prominent and the pulse on my wrist is quite visible, sore and this soreness radiates up my arm which often feels weak.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

I think your problem with your arm comes due to hypertrophy as a result of keeping it steady for a long time. I think the first thing you can do to improve it is physiotherapy. It can improve your symptoms and the appearance of the vein also.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka,
