What Causes Pain While Swallowing?

I have had pain with swallowing for the last two weeks. The pain was mild no trouble with eating and it hurts assymetrically more on the right side when i swallow. At night it gets worse during the day it is better. No cough although I had a nonproductive cough 2 weeks ago. I am sexually active use condoms 90% of the time and have been with more than one partner but they don't have any history of STDs. I have been taking acetominophen for relief. My throat is red currently and I live in a winter climate.

HI
Thank for asking to HCM
I can understand your problem, the chances of Gastric esophageal reflex disease is very likely, if I would be your doctor then I would treat you with the following medicine.
1) Tab. Omeprazole 40 mg once in day at evening time
2) Tab. Domeperidone one tab at evening time
you have to continue this medicine for six weeks, and this will give good result, hope this information helps you, take care and have nice day.
