What Causes Pain While Breathing?
I hit my leg on the side of the tub when I was in mexico in January, it is still discolored and very painful. I saw my dr and he said to come back in 6 months if it still hurts. I think it is more serious because it is hurting more now. even when I take a deep breath in I get a stabbing pain.

In my opinion you should get done chest x ray first to rule out below mentioned things.
1. Pneumothorax
2. Rib fracture
3. Pulmonary contusion
Etc.
Also get done x ray of affected part of leg. You may have malunion or some soft tissue injury.
So better to consult doctor and get done chest x ray and x ray of local part.
Start painkillers with antiinflammatory drugs.
