What Causes Pain Under The Rib Cage?

Starting yesterday, I had some pain in my upper abdomen, just under my rib cage. It continued through the night. Today, it is still there, but only after I ate - and after I eat today it feels like the food is not digesting, it sits on my chest. Any ideas?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello welcome to the health care magic

Here I need following details for giving more comment....
1.exact location of pain
2.duration of symptom (since how long it is present)
3.associated cough, dyspnea etc??
4.smoking history??
5.outside food intake history??

It can be gastritis or ulcer like condition leading abdominal and referred chest pain

For that rabeprazole can be prescribed for two week

Avoid excess spicy foods

Excess tea, coffee, smoking, stress avoided

Yougurt should be included in meal

If no improvement then we will think further and provide above answer for giving more comment

Hope your concern solved
