What Causes Pain Under The Rib Cage While Bending?
I am having pain under my rib cage when I move or bend. The right side is worse than the left, but are quite painful when getting up from a sitting position or turning from my waist to reach for something. I have had this condition for about a month. I m 78 years old and in pretty good shape. I take Crestor, Ranatidine, paxil and Gabapentin and low dose aspirin daily. Could any of these cause this pain after years of use? If not, any ideas? email: YYYY@YYYY
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
The pain you describe may be caused by medical conditions like GERD/gastritis, chondroarthritis, liver pathologies, or just mechanical pain. Respiratory causes may be less likely since no cough.
I will advise you see the doctor for examination as only a medical examination may help to know the exact cause. This pain may not be caused by your drugs.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Mbuomboh Veranso
