What Causes Pain Under The Left Rib Cage?

My daughter has excruciating pain below her left rib area on her stomach. Pain since 1am. Hurts more when she lays back. Could it be her appendix or food poisoning? Ate raw salmon at 8pm. Stomach feels like there is one singular bubble. She s 17 yrs old. Can t lay down. It hurts more. Is sitting up now

Symptoms you have mentioned are mostly likely due to food poisoning as as she had raw salmon which is the reason for her pain. I suggest you to take her to the ER as she may need some antibiotics and antacids to get relieved from that pain.
