What Causes Pain Radiating From Groin Area To Knee After Hip Replacement?

I had removal of infected hip in 2007 and the replacement hip lasted until 2009. The hip became infected and the stem wouldn t come out of the femur. The femur was cut to release the stem. A plate was put in and attached to the femur until it healed. Now in 2015 I have returned to my doctor to ask him to remove the plate. I cannot stand the pain any longer. My leg from the groin to the knee is so sore when I try to lift my leg or walk. Do you think this removal is a good idea?
