What Causes Pain On The Right Side Of The Left Breast?

My husband continues to have intermittent dull and achy pain to the right side of his left breast area. He does not have shortness of breath but it starts to really hurt but then subsides. This has been going on for about a month. Any suggestions?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

There are many causes of chest pain. Being in the left side brings the need to rule out heart problems as the cause of it especially if it is a tightness or heaviness in a wide area of the chest and is related to exercise (doing activities, walking, climbing stairs, etc).
He will need to have a check with his doctor and his heart examined and possibly and ECG and heart ultrasound.

If all these come out normal then other causes of chest pain can be considered like muscular chest pain.

I hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
