What Causes Pain On The Bottom Right Side Of The Thumb?

I have a pain in my thumb on the bottom of the right side, almost below my nail. And it hurts especially when I put pressure on it. But if I do that while on a flat surface and roll my thumb around, I can feel a bump under my skin, and it s not small, it s generally like medium size. But it s not actually visible. At first I thought it had something to do with the hairties on my wrist cutting off circulation to my hand, and that it would eventually go away if I had them off for a few days, because that s what the Internet said. But it s only gotten worse. I never hit it on anything or had caused harm to it another way, and it s been going on for about a week, I think. What s going on with my thumb?
