What Causes Pain Near The Spine After An Injury?

I was out in the water the other day, and was trying to climb a rock wall. At one point my back was to the rocks and a wave came and smashed me into the rocks hitting my lower left side of by back right below the ribcage and near the spine on a corner. It s still pretty painful 2 days later, walking, bending, even just readjusting my sleeping position. It s a deep pain, like it feels similar to a pulled muscle. I ve been told there s no bruising around the area, is it something I should be worried about?

Hi
Thank you for asking HCM.
I have gone through your query. Your problem is most likely strain of muscle or injury to intervertebral disc. But any fracture or crack of spine should be excluded. An orthopedic examination followed by a X ray spine can rule out this. For such cases i treat with NSAIDs like aceclofenac muscle relaxants like thiocolchicoside and rest for 4 to 5 days from physical activity. I also advise local anti inflammatory gels like diclofenac for local application. Hope this may help you.
Let me know if you have any further queries.
