What Causes Pain Near Incision Site After Undergoing Ovarian Cyst Removal?

I am a relatively healthy 49 yo woman 5 4 140lbs. In March I had a large ovarian cyst and both fallopian tubes removed. I am having periodic sharp pains at or near the incision sites. Generally it is just above the incision sites. How long should the pain remain? The pain gets worse closer to my cycle.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

For around 10-15 days pain can persist because of inflammation.

So if your pain persist for long time than local incision site need to be examined and USG scan can be done for further work up.

Take care. Hope this will help you. Consult gynecologist for examination if needed.
