What Causes Pain In Thigh Muscles?

I have severe pain in my right (front ) thigh muscles. My GP sent me for tests, I had an examination, x-rays and MRI scan. They said they could find nothing wrong. This pain comes on only when I walk and limits me to about 15-24 steps or strides. It has been present for two years and is seriously affecting my life. My left leg is perfectly okay. Could you suggest a possible reason, it is not going away and even affects me moving about in the house. I have unable to go anywhere since this started.

Hi
Thanks for writing in.

Though your Xray, MRI and other tests are normal, they don't rule out vascular insufficiency in the muscles supplying your thigh muscles.

I would advice you to undergo a doppler study to check for vascular supply to the muscles of your thigh and rule out stenosis in the artery.

Hope this helps! Please do let me know if you have any more questions!
