What causes pain in the upper thigh?

Good morning. I have moderate muscle strain type pain in my upper right inside thigh, which goes away periodically but returns when driving for more than a half hour or sitting on a plane. Is this likely a muscle strain or some kind of nerve issue?? Thank you!
