Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I suddenly developed a in the upper back portion of my thigh last night. I put Salon Pas on the area but the pain has not subsided. If I hang my leg over the edge of the bed this helps somewhat. I m sitting on th edge of the bed right now but can still feel the pain.
As the pain is in the upper portion of the thigh, I suspect it to be a nerve root entrapment in the lumbar spine. Doing hot water fermentation will soothe the muscles and reduce the pain radiation.
Doing McKenzie maneuver will help reduce the pain in the thigh and centralise it in the lower back. You can check online this.
If the pain has stopped reduced post-McKenzie maneuver then it's a lumbar spine issue and can be corrected by core stability and back strengthening.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
