What Causes Pain In The Tongue?

Hi. My question is that my tongue feels as if its thick it's sore and has bumps on the back of the tongue. My throat is now hurting. My voice had been raspy two straight weeks prior to this. I've got a cough and it feels like a wet loose cough and I'm coughing up green mucus.

Hi..
Thanks for the query..

Thick feeling of tongue along with soreness and bumps on tongue along with wet cough is pointing towards upper respiratory infections causing inflammation of tongue..
You should start taking treatment for the Infection first like take cough expectorant like Gueifenesin, that will help in reducing phlegm also..
Take anti histamine like Levocetrizine, montelukast and mucolytics like ambroxol, decongestant like Phenylephrine..
Take a combination of Acetaminophen and Ibuprofen.
Do warm saline gargles and steam inhalation.
Drink plenty of warm water..
Avoid spicy and chilled foods..
For tongue you can gargle with numbing mouthwash containing Lignocaine and take Vitamin B complex..

Hope this helps..

Regards..
