What Causes Pain In The Tailbone?

I have been having tailbone pain for almost one year. I have had a colonoscopy and an X-ray. They found nothing. Now I am noticing when I go to the bathroom it seems I do not empty my colon and it is hard to get myself clean. When I sit in my recliner the pain is really bad. If I sit in a chair that does not require me to sit back on my tailbone area it is not too bad. Should I be concerned?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms are typical of a clinical condition called coccalgia.

As of now you can use analgesics/anti-inflammatory combination like aceclofenac/serratiopeptidase for symptomatic relief.

If symptoms persists better to consult an orthopaedician and plan for an MRI scan.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
