Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have pain in my sternum and somewhat above especially when I swallow. Sort of like when you swallow too much food at once. The only trauma I can relate to it is that I took a butt end of hockey stick in the high stomach area a couple of weeks ago, but I don t think that is it. Thank you
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
The pain in the sternum indicates possible muscle or ligament insult following blunt injury with hockey stick. I recommend ice application, local application of analgesic spray, oral intake of PPI and anti inflammatory drugs. Consuming soft, easily digestible diet, avoid non veg, spices, hard stuffs to be chewed.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
