It may be due to sinusitis and infection leads to this smell. It may be discharge from epithelial lining of infected sinuses. Pus also causes smell in nasal infections. Other reason may be a foreign body inside nose. No such history, so least likely in you. What you have to do is use saline nasal spray 4 times a day in both nostrils especially the affected side. Consult an ENT Specialist right away for complete evaluation and treatment of infection. It may be polyp in the sinus that causes obstruction to the outflow of sinus secretions and cause smelly obstructed fluid. Hope it helps.
