What Causes Pain In The Right Arm On Coughing In A Bronchitis Patient?

I have bronchitis and I did go to my urgent care center the other day to get a antibiotic. My question is when i cough really hard I get a pain in my right shoulder and down my arm. .. the pain actually lasts a few minutes after the coughing fit. This is new and very uncomfortable... why is it happening?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello dear Greetings
Regarding your experience with pain at the right shoulder and arm after coughing following a history of bronchitis I am suggesting strongly that this is due to excessive mucus causing obstruction as well as building an intrathoracic pressure when you cough and therefore stimulate painful episode

In view of this please see a pulmonologist specialist for expert clinical assessment and adequate drug prescription

Meanwhile please take some analgesic pending your appointment

I hope this helps Regards
