What Causes Pain In The Pelvis While Suffering From A UTI?

Hi not sure if I have a uti, however I have extreme urgency and have experienced some gushing of urine. I have had some mild pelvic pain over the past two weeks. It felt almost like menstral cramping, which I m feeling off and on. I have back ache though, more on my right side then left. No fever. Some achy, stabbing pain in my vagina with horrible tissue pain and itchy between vagina and rectum area. I have been using incontinence pads - probably 5-7 pads a day. I cannot control the urge to urinate and have to get to a toilet immediately. I see no evidence of yeast infection and do not have a history of yeast. I am a 65 yo female and was prescribed Estrace to use several months ago - several times a week, which I have been doing. I m really struggling with this and worried about the inability to control this urging and gushing.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

The pain in the pelvis is a typical sign of urinary tract infection.I suggest you to take a cycle of antibiotics prescribed by your doctor. I also suggest using anti-inflammatory medications such as Ibuprofen three times a day to relief the pain.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi,
