Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had carpal tunnel surgery two years ago on both hands. The carpal tunnel was severe and nerve damage had taken place. I have had severe pain in the fatty area below the thumb and above the wrist when there is movement. Can it be an injury? I am confused why it would hurt so severely from a movement, and if that could be arthritis?
Your symptoms seem to be related to carpal tunnel syndrome. I suggest using an over the counter option like Ibuprofen of relieve the pain. I also recommend to use a splint to immobilize the area.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi,
General & Family Physician
